EED is a professional and comprehensive institution focusing on policy research of energy, environment and economy, technology research and development, professional training, as well as services aiming at strengthening and construction of professional capabilities for the clients.

EED has mobilized famous domestic and international experts in energy and environmental fields. Since its foundation, EED has provided strong technical supports in policy making in energy, environment and relevant fields for the central and local governments. Meanwhile, EED has established and is maintaining close collaborations with governments and international organizations including National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China (MOARA), Ministry of Ecological Environment of the People's Republic of China (MOEE), Global Environment Facility (GEF), United Nations agencies, Asian Development Bank (ADB),Word Bank (WB), etc.
