Integrated Environmental Service Roundtable Conference was held

On April 19, 2014, with the support from Science and Technology Division of Environmental Protection Department, sponsored by Environmental Supervisory Research Branch of Chinese Society For Environmental Sciences, “Integrated Environmental Service Roundtable Conference” was held by Energy and Environmental Development Research Center (hereinafter referred to as “EED”) in Beijing Xiyuan Hotel.

There were more than 30 participants in this roundtable conference, including management officers from central and local governments, experts from research institutes and associations, as well as executives from enterprises. The entities involved include but are not limited to the following: Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, Science, Technology and Standards Department of Environmental Protection Department, Pollution Prevention and Control Department of Environmental Protection Department, Environmental Supervisory bureau, China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, Hebei Provincial Environmental Law Enforcement Supervision Bureau,Shijiazhuang Environmental Protection Bureau, Langfang City Environmental Protection Bureau, Leshan City Environmental Protection Bureau of Sichuan Province, Xi'an High-tech Zone Environmental Protection Bureau,Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture,Suzhou Circular Economy Center,Suzhou High-tech Zone Environmental Protection Industry Association, Shijiazhuang environmental science and Research Institute,Guangdong Keda Electromechanical Co., Ltd., Beijing Lida Kexin Environmental Safety Technology Co., Ltd.、Dongan Holding Group Co., Ltd.,Beijing Capital Agricultural Group Co., Ltd.、Zhongke Yutu World Technology Co., Ltd., China International Multinational Corporation Promotion Association, China Academy of Environmental Management, Huaxia Certification Center, etc.

The major topic of this conference is “Business Development of Integrated Environmental Service”. In the meeting, officers from Environmental Protection Department made an in-depth analysis on policy and future development of integrated environmental service, Chinese environmental status and development, Chinese environmental service development and environmental law enforcement, the status and prospect of environmental service in environmental industry and so on. Liuxin, President of EED, made a comprehensive analysis on the exploration of integrated environmental service development and offered some suggestion about integrated environmental service development. EED signed strategic cooperation agreements about integrated environmental service in the meeting with Beijing Capital Agricultural Group Co., Ltd., Guangdong Keda Electromechanical Co., Ltd., respectively, which was a milestone of EED development of integrated environmental service.

The roundtable discussion was hosted by EED president Liuxin. All representatives from functional departments of local governments, enterprises and associations made an in-depth discussion and exchange according to their owe situation, in the topics that how the government should change in functions and promote the environmental service development by strategy guiding, that how the enterprises should realize coordinated development between economy and environment, the opportunity and challenge in Integrated environmental service, Environmental and economic benefit brought from the Integrated environmental service purchasing by government and enterprises, typical Integrated environmental service cases carried out by government and enterprises. 

As the first Chinese new strategy industry, energy conservation and environmental protection industry is highly concerned by the government and enterprises in recent years. Promoting environmental protection development transformation, innovating the environmental service pattern, and increasing the rate of environmental service in environmental protection industry gradually become the priority in environmental policy-making. Environmental Protection Department  explicitly put forward in a series of regulation and legislation, such as (Exposure draft)、、<Environmental Services Pilot Project>, that it should explore new environmental service pattern such as integrated environmental service, that it should develop an internationally competitive environmental integrated service group, that it should impel Chinese environmental industry transformation through the service pattern innovation. At present situation, environmental service industry has become the fastest growing sector in Chinese environmental industry and is a key point for breakthroughs in industrial development. Meanwhile, as the demand for environmental services becomes more and more integrated and intensified, the requirements for environmental output become more and more clear, which provides opportunities for upgrading and transformation of the environmental industry, integrated environmental service industry is becoming the mainstream of environmental protection industry.

At the end of Integrated Environmental Service Roundtable Conference, Vice-president Lu xinyuan, made a summary and highly praised EED for successfully hosting the “Integrated Environmental Services Roundtable Conference Conference” and made an outlook on the development of the integrated environmental service industry in the future. “Integrated Environmental Service Roundtable Conference” came to a successful end.
